The Business Review has been recognizing and celebrating the up and coming business leaders of the Capital Region since 2000.

We announced our 40 Under Forty class for 2013 this week.

The announcement generates a buzz of its own. The May luncheon at Hilton Albany generally attracts upwards of 800 people. This year we received some 500 nominations to consider.

This year’s class joins the 480 honorees the Business Review has identified over the life of the program. They are a special group and it has been a thrill over the years to watch the people who have been 40 Under Forty honorees rise up in their careers and make news. It’s an impressive group that includes bank presidents, CEOs, entrepreneurs, scientists, physicians, small business owners, attorneys; the whole spectrum of the Capital Region’s business community.

What we have seen is that the 40 Under Forty designation has become a brand, not just for the program, but for the individuals who carry that identity on through their careers.

In many ways, this is a leadership group for the up and coming generation of people who will be playing influential roles in shaping our communities. They are the people we will be doing business in the years to come.

This year’s group is an impressive addition to the roster.
