Doweled vs. Nail-On
Doweled
- Doweled style fence typically features a backer rail that is molded to a 2″ dowel at the ends.
- With Doweled style fencing, the weight of the fence panel is supported by the actual fence rails
- With Doweled style fencing the posts are visible between the panels on both sides of the fence
Nail-On
- Nail-on style fence typically features a square backer rail which is secured to the face of a post
- With Nail-on style fencing, the entire weight of the fence panel is supported by the fastener
- With Nail-on style fencing the posts are not visible from the “good” side
